Desucon 2013: Finland, you rock!

Europe knows how to organize conventions too. From June 14th to 16th took place Desucon 2013, a Finnish convention for fans of Japanese animation and comics at the Sibelius Hall in Lahti, Finland. This is the fifth year of desucon, first organised in June 2009 and ranked among the very best con in Finland. Weather let attendees enjoy the presence of special guests like Seiji Mizushima (Japanese anime director of Fullmetal Alchemist) and Akemi Okamura (voice acting of series like One Piece and Digimon). Moreover, there was the Eurocosplay Qualifier which was won by a Finnish girl (costumed as Amira Halgal) who will represent Finland at the Eurocosplay in London. Also organizing committee surprised people with workshops like Amigurumi (Japanese crocheted toys), speedmeeting, wolf among us (game based on the manga Rabbit Doubt), Fakemon (create your own pokemon), shibari (bondage) and AMV (anime music video) contest among many others. Apart from that, anime lovers delighted a great variety of conferences about Monster Hunter, Death note, Pokemon, Valkyria Chronicles, anime and sports, character design, anime's origin, etc, To conclude we can say attendees are the essence of Desucon because they can take part in all events.
